PHYSICIANS

AUGUSTINE A. DOLCICH, MD, FAAFP
BOARD CERTIFIED BY THE AMERICAN BOARD OF FAMILY PRACTICE
FELLOW OF THE AMERICAN ACADEMY OF FAMILY PHYSICIANS

Dr Dolcich will be at South Riding one morning a week starting in the fall.

Dr. Dolcich, a native Washingtonian, has been practicing in northern Virginia since April of 1994. He received his medical degree from Howard University, Washington, D.C. and completed his family medicine residency at the University of Maryland Hospital, Baltimore. His professional interests include infant, pediatric and adult general medicine, sports medicine, dermatology, diabetes and asthma. Dr. Dolcich is board certified by the American Board of Family Practice and a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr Dolcich has been named "best Pediatrician" in Family Magazine. His personal interests include team sports and camping. He currently resides in Herndon , Virginia with his wife, Marissa, daughters, Lucy, and Veronica, and son Joseph.

 

ANDREW J. HARDING, MD, FAAFP
BOARD CERTIFIED BY THE AMERICAN BOARD OF FAMILY PRACTICE
FELLOW OF THE AMERICAN ACADEMY OF FAMILY PHYSICIANS

Dr. Harding will be at South Riding only on Wednesday mornings. The rest of the time he will be at Town Center.

Dr. Harding has been board certified by the American Board of Family Practice since 1988 and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. He received his medical degree from McGill University in Montreal ,Quebec, Canada , and completed his residency in family practice at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. He is a member of the Medical Reserve Corps of Fairfax and is chairman of the Department of Family Practice at Reston Hospital Center. His special interests include endocrine diseases including diabetes, pediatrics, sports medicine and psychological aspects of physical diseases. Dr. Harding speaks English, French and Spanish. Dr. Harding has been named "Best Doctor" in Washington Clipper magazine and Family Magazine. His personal interests include piano, soccer, gardening, camping and hiking. He is currently raising his fourth puppy, Bardot, for Canine Companions for Independence, an organization that provides assitance dogs for all disabilities except blindness. You might see Bardot around the office as part of her training! His first puppy, Geyser, is a full service dog helping someone with multiple sclerosis and second puppy, Telsa, was released and is now a member of the family.Third puppy,Tiana, was also released. Dr. Harding resides in Bethesda with his wife, Lily, and his sons, Marco, Daniel and Jamie.

IRVING HWANG, MD
BOARD CERTIFIED BY THE AMERICAN BOARD OF FAMILY PRACTICE

Dr Hwang is only at South Riding

Dr. Hwang will join South Riding Family Medicine on April 3rd, 2006. Irving is a native of Fairfax, Virginia, has been in private practice in the area since 2002. He attended Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology and earned both his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Virginia. Dr.Hwang completed his residency at the Medical College of Virginia. He is active in the hospital community and serves on the Infectious Disease committee at Columbia/HCA Reston Hospital and the Credentials committee at INOVA Fair Oaks Hospital. While he enjoys the full scope of family medicine, he has a special interest in pediatric care, evidence based medicine, and computers in medicine. In his free time he enjoys traveling, biking, skiing and trying new recipes in the kitchen. Please join us in welcoming Dr.Hwang!

 

JOHN PHILLIPS, MD
BOARD CERTIFIED BY THE AMERICAN BOARD OF FAMILY PRACTICE

Dr. Phillips is only at South Riding.

John Phillips joined Town Center Family Medicine in August 11, 2003. John grew up in Manassas, Virginia and attended the Medical College of Virginia for medical school. He completed his Family Practice training at Fairfax Family Practice. His areas of interest include cardiology, sports medicine, office procedures, evidence based medicine, and medical writing. He currently lives in Vienna, Virginia and enjoys long distance running and travel in his free time.

REBECCA RINGWOOD, ANP
BOARD CERTIFIED ADULT NURSE PRACTITIONER

Becky will be at South Riding full time starting in August.

Rebecca Ringwood graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 1980. After fifteen years as a registered clinical nurse, Rebecca earned a masters degree in nursing as a nurse practitioner from the George Mason/George Washington University Nurse Practioner Program. Experience as a nurse includes service as an active duty and Army reserve nurse corps officer, practice in pediatrics, home health, occupational health, emergency room and neurological/ physical medicine. Certifications include: Adult Nurse Practitioner Specialty and Occupational Health Nursing Specialist. Memberships include: Northern Virginia Council of Nurse Practitioners and the 2290th U.S. Army Hospital located at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. She is fluent in American Sign Language.

Farshad Bathaee, DPM will be available on Wednesdays from 9am to 6 pm and Fridays from 1pm to 5pm.

Dr. Bathaee graduated from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. He completed his residency in foot and ankle surgery and is Board Certified by The American Board of Podiatric Surgery. Dr. Bathaee
specializes in treatment of hyperhidrosis of the foot using Botox, treatment of hammertoe and bunion deformity, flat foot deformity, arthritis of the foot and ankle,  foot and ankle injury and sports related injury, diabetic foot care, ingrown nails and plantar warts.

Dr Charles Huh, Gastroenterology, will be available on Friday mornings.

Dr. Huh has been in private practice since 2002. He completed his Gastroenterology and Hepatology Fellowship at the University of Maryland. He has a special interest in Inflamatory Bowel Disease, Reflux Disease and Crohn Carrier screening.

Dr Keith Lawhorn, Orthopaedic Surgeon, has been in practice since 1996. Dr Lawhorn's area of expertise is Sports Medicine and advanced arthroscopy of the knee, shoulder, elbow and ankle joints. Dr Lawhorn grew up in Virginia where he attended Courtland High School. He did his undergraduate in Chemistry at University of Virginia, and obtained his medical degree from UVA in 1991. Dr Lawhorn was chief resident Orthopeaedic Surgery at Medical College of Virginia in 1995-96. He is board certified with The American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons as well as American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Sports Medicine. Dr Lawhorn has published numerous papers in prestigious journals such as “The American Journal of Sports Medicine, “Orthopedic Clinics of North America”, “Journal of Biomechanical Engineering”, as well as chapters in textbooks, Textbook of Arthroscopy and Surgical Techniques in Sports Medicine. Dr Lawhorn has received numerous awards including Distinguished Services Award Fair Oaks Hospital in 2005, United States Air Force Meritorious Service Medal in 2004, Runner-up “Reviewer of the Year 2003” Arthroscopy Journal, Air Force Commendation Medal in 2000, and Medical College of Virginia Orthopaedic Resident Research Award in 1994. He currently practices as an Orthopaedic Surgeon with Advanced Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Institute in Fairfax and is an Assistant Professor of Surgery, Uniformed Services University of Health Science in Bethesda, MD since 2002. He is team physician for Washington Bayhawks Major League Professional Lacrosse Team, South County Secondary School, and Freedom High School.

 

Dr Caroline Tan, Psychiatry will be available on Thursdays from 10 am to 5pm. Dr Tan is a child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist. Please call 571-323-3300 for an appointment. You can also reach her at 703-766-5027 on Thursdays.

Dr. Tan completed her medical internship and Psychiatry residency training at University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey- Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, followed by a two-year fellowship in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at North Shore University Hospital-NYU School of Medicine and Mount Sinai School of Medicine affiliated programs in New York with a six-month clinical research and adolescent substance abuse fellowship at North Shore University Hospital in Long Island, NY. She was actively involved in teaching medical students and residents in training. When her family moved from NY to VA in 2000, Dr. Tan practiced as a consulting pediatric psychiatrist at the Dept. of Mental Health in Washington, D.C. in its outpatient satellite centers, emergency and forensic divisions.  She had worked as a medical director at a residential treatment center in Washington DC prior to setting her private practice in Herndon-Reston area.  She sees both adult and pediatric population.  She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and an active Board Member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

DeAnna Hight, LCSW, Social Work

DeAnna Hight is available Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8am to 2pm.

DeAnna graduated from the University of Denver with a Master's Degree in Social Work.  She received specialized training from the Family Therapy Training Center of Denver.  DeAnna is licensed by the Virginia Board of Social Work.  Her experience includes individual and group therapy with children, adolescents, and adults; as well as family therapy.

Sherry Kauffman, LCSW is available Evenings and Saturdays

> Sherry graduated from Washburn University with a Master's Degree in Clinical Social Work. She has over ten years experience in clinical practice serving a varied client base to include military members and family.  Her primary approach is cognitive behavioral in nature.  She is available for individual, family (to include marital) and group therapy. Sherry is licensed by the Virginia Board of Social Work.
